Have you ever had one of those moments? A small, seemingly insignificant gesture that just fills your heart to overflowing? It’s funny how sometimes, it’s not the grand gestures or the big events that make us feel truly seen and loved, but rather the quiet, everyday moments. The ones we might almost overlook if we’re not paying close enough attention.

Just a few weeks ago, my wonderful husband, Jeff, and I were on our way to a Brandon Lake concert in San Antonio – a special trip to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the day we met! On the drive, he casually suggested we make a little detour to the 8th Street Market in Comfort, Texas, for coffee and a treat. And in that simple suggestion, my heart just swelled. He remembered how much I adore that place. It wasn’t a big, flashy moment, but it was a beautiful, quiet reminder that I am known, I am loved, and I am seen. It was a little thing, but it meant everything.

In this season of life, especially as an empty nester, I’ve found that these “little things” are where true joy often resides. It’s so easy to get caught up in the routines, to feel a bit disconnected, or to wonder if anyone truly notices the quiet work of our days. If you’re feeling that way, please know, dear one, you are not alone. I’ve been there, and sometimes, I still find myself there.

That precious memory of our coffee stop inspired me to create a two-page scrapbook layout using the beautiful Sunniest Stories Scrapbooking Kit from Stampin’ Up!® I titled it, “Living the Best Life in the Little Things.” This kit is an absolute dream – it’s all-inclusive, making it so easy to dive in and create without feeling overwhelmed. It comes with pre-printed base pages, gorgeous patterned paper strips, sticker sheets, delightful punch-outs, and even cut-apart cards for journaling. Plus, all the adhesives you need like Tear & Tape, dimensionals, and glue dots are right there!

Creating this layout was such a joy, and it helped me truly savor that memory. I loved using the kit’s pre-scored, file-folder-shaped piece to create a hidden journaling pocket for my thoughts. And for the title, I stamped “little things” directly onto the page using the Simple Alphabet stamp set and black ink – a little tip: if you’re nervous about stamping directly, try stamping on a clear shipping label first to get your placement just right! I also focused on building pretty floral clusters, making sure to balance the kit’s lovely colors of Daffodil Delight, Afternoon Azure, and Calypso Coral, and adding dimension with Stampin’ Dimensionals to make some elements pop.

This isn’t just about paper and glue, friends. It’s about intentionally noticing the blessings, big and small, that God places in our path. It’s about taking those fleeting moments and giving them a permanent home, not just in our hearts, but on a page where we can revisit them and be reminded of His faithfulness. Creativity, for me, has been a profound source of healing, helping me to see the joy that’s already there, even when life feels a little broken. It’s a way to restore our souls and reconnect with the beautiful story God is writing through us.

If you’ve been longing to rediscover joy, to reconnect with your creativity, or simply to feel seen and understood, I invite you to pause. Look for the “little good” in your day. And if you’re not sure where to start preserving those precious memories, the Sunniest Stories Scrapbooking Kit might be exactly what you need to gently guide you back to that creative spark.
