Have you ever sat down at your craft desk, surrounded by beautiful papers and photos, only to feel completely overwhelmed by where to start?
If you’re nodding your head, you are not alone. As memory keepers, we have so many stories we want to tell, but sometimes the process of gathering supplies, choosing photos, and deciding on a layout can stop us in our tracks before we even make that first cut.
I understand that feeling all too well. In this season of life, creativity has been such a source of healing and joy for me, and I want it to be that for you, too. That’s why I was so excited to share my favorite system for memory keeping in my recent Stampin’ Up!® Artisan Creative Corner feature, which went live on their social media this past weekend!

The Secret: Ready-To-Create Layout Kits
The key to moving from overwhelm to finished pages is simple: preparation. I’ve created a simple, repeatable system in my craft space that takes the stress out of scrapbooking. I call them “Ready-To-Create Layout Kits.”
Instead of starting from scratch every time I sit down, I prep these kits in advance. Each kit is stored in a clear sleeve and includes everything I need for a single layout: the photos I want to document, coordinating patterned paper and cardstock, and any specific embellishments or die-cuts I might want to use.
By having everything gathered in one place, I eliminate the decision fatigue that often comes with crafting. When I have a pocket of time to create, I simply grab a kit, follow a simple plan, and start putting the page together.

Organizing for Joyful Creating
Of course, to build these kits easily, it helps to have an organized space! In my Artisan feature, I shared a peek into how I organize my supplies to support this system.
I sort scraps and cardstock by color families and size, making it incredibly easy to pull coordinating pieces when assembling kits. Stamp sets, dies, and embossing folders are grouped and labeled in wooden bins for quick access. And the kits themselves are stored together in a dedicated section of my shelf, easy to grab and go.

When your space supports your process, creativity flows so much more easily. It allows you to focus on what truly matters: telling your story and finding joy in the process. Even if your space is small, you can implement this kit system to make your crafting time more intentional and relaxing.
Creating with Jesus, Crafting with Joy
My hope is that this simple system inspires you to pull out those photos you’ve been meaning to scrapbook. Your story matters, and it deserves to be beautifully preserved. Don’t let the overwhelm of supplies keep you from experiencing the joy of creativity.
Try putting together just one Ready-To-Create Layout Kit this week. Gather your photos, pick out some beautiful Stampin’ Up! paper, and put it all in a folder. I promise, the next time you sit down to craft, you’ll be so glad you did!

Also, I’ve had many asking where I got the bamboo boxes for my stamps & dies and the paper storage organizers for my scraps. So, here are the links for those items as well…
